I'm moving the focus of my business to health coaching and I need a website. Talk to me about domain names.

CoachBrandie.com
myname.com
HealthCoachBrandie.com

Something else?

Thoughts?

I like CoachBrandie. It seems very approachable.

I am not very good at figuring out names or whatnot, but something pixieish would be cute. Who wouldn't want to have a pixie for a coach?

I am leaning toward CoachBrandie right now. I like the idea of something pixieish, but maybe that would cut down my potential client base too much?

I would stay away from something too cute.. you're trying to seem professional and like someone should trust you with their health. Cute doesn't seem like it would necessarily be an asset.

Coachbrandie seems somewhat more professional, although if you're going to do coaching AND sell stuff, I really like the naturallyinbalance name idea. you could have a coach brandie section and a selling stuff section.

I checked, and naturallyinbalance.com is taken, but it is just a placeholder :(

J and I are brainstorming here. I like CoachBrandie.com. J asks: do you have a special angle to the general health coaching genre? From a pagan or other personal viewpoint? Or do you want that completely separate? NaturallyInBalance.com or such is J's suggestion.

I think I will be leaving out the pagan viewpoint. Though I hadn't really thought about it. Definately form a holistic point of view. I like NaturallyInBalance, though. I really like it. Maybe that could be something attached to CoachBrandie. Maybe the store. I plan on having products that my clients would be able to buy that will help them with their goals.

Consider this another vote for naturallyinbalance.com, or something similar. You might see if you can contact the people who currently have that domain name, and check if they're willing to sell it to you; or perhaps think of something similar to it, that conveys the message, but isn't taken. Like...(and I'm just pulling things from the air here) bodyinbalance.com or wholebodybalance.com, or somesuch.

Can you combine your ideas and do something like BalanceCoachBrandie, or are you going to get too many hits for gymnastics?

CoachBrandie is nice and simple, easy to find, easy to market, and will grow and change with you as your business changes.

I think your name is a pretty good brand identity, and it is flexible enough to change as you do. It's why I own sheeri.com :)

Otherwise, I might go for something cute and catchy -- CoachBrandie.com works, but maybe something like BrandieForYourHealth.com or something like that -- a play on your name. (DrinkMyBrandie.com is wrong, and the former is too long, but maybe something like brandie.com/foryourhealth is good enough? But brandie.com is already registered, poop).

I think your name is enough, and it will change with you.

All good points. I think I like the idea of Brandiesomethingsomething.com

Here's a couple things to think about domain names. It needs to be something that's clear in your message, easy to say to someone, and easy for them to remember. One concern I'd have with coachbrandie.com, is if you tell someone, they may try coachbrandy.com. Not that you couldn't get both, and redirect the wrong one to the right one. ;)

Avoid getting too long in your domain names, it makes it more difficult to sell outside of the internet.
