I could use some help thinking of neat baby goat names. I don't have any baby goats yet! (any! day! now!), but I'm pretty sure that I will have at least one that is black with white racing stripes on its face. I'm also quite sure that I will have at least one all-white girl. I usually end up using book-character names. Thoughts?
In honor of my old Cooper, the balco one with racing stripes could be named Dash! All white girl...Is Sparkle a stupid goat name? If you give them happy names, maybe they'll turn out to be happy goats! I've wanted to get a tiny dog and name him Peptide. Not good for a goat, though. I am going to keep thinking on this one.
Sparkle is not a stupid name. Actually, there is a character whose nickname is Sparkle in the book I just finished. (She is the newborn of a woman whose nickname is Spark, so it fits.) "Spark"'s real name is Fawn. Her daughter's name is Nattie-Mari.
Dash is a nifty name. I think of it as a boy's name, too. If I got twin boys, I could have Dash and Flash. Or Dash and Pinch, depending on if we are going with superheroes or cooking classes.

An octopus will be released from a New Zealand aquarium after escaping from a tank and surviving five days on the run.
Last month Sid mysteriously vanished from his tank at a Dunedin aquarium.
Five days later, he was spotted by a staff member making a dash for the door.
Sid had been hiding out in a drain, which pumps fresh sea water into the aquarium.
He was persuaded back into his tank. He was hungry but otherwise OK.
The aquarium's senior aquarist, Matthew Crane, says Sid has done his time and will be freed.
"We are realising he is getting a little older in his life and maybe searching for a mate so that's why we've gone ahead and set his release for today," he said.
Another octopus named Harry - after Harry Houdini - escaped from the same tank.
EAST MEADOW, N.Y., Feb. 16 (UPI) -- A suburban New York man said the personalized license plate he obtained for his car -- XXX PERT -- causes many people to ask him about buying pornography.
Henry DeRossi, 78, of East Meadow, N.Y., said the plate on his Mercedes-Benz is a reference to his business, Expert Metal Slitters of Long Island City, N.Y., but the triple-X on the plate causes many to confuse him for a porn seller, the New York Daily News reported Monday.
"You'd be surprised how many people stop me when I am at a light and want to buy porn," DeRossi said.
He told the Daily News the number of people confused by the plate has grown to the point where his auto dealer has him park the vehicle in a back lot when he brings it in for service.
The New York Department of Motor Vehicles said there are 450,292 personalized license plates in the state

Morris eventually grabbed the man's boxer shorts and pulled. Salt Lake City police said she then she put a headlock on the man until help could arrive.
The man was booked into the Salt Lake County jail on suspicion of vehicle burglary, possession of stolen property and outstanding warrants.
