So, there is a new Pope

But it doesn't seem to make that much of a difference here. Nobody seems to be talking about the whole thing. It was front page news for one day when the last one died and this election will be front page news for one day, too. I somehow thought that because this is Italy, home of the Pope and ever so many Catholics, that he would be a common topic of conversation. Absolutely not the case.

I originally titled this post "So, we have a new Pope," but then I thought that would include me and other people I know who don't think of him as "ours". Surely, he would look at my pentacle and not consider me one of "his" (that whole not suffering witches to live thing), so I changed it.

All I can say is that he is an awfully hale looking 74.
