Rambling update
Yeah, I know it has been a long time, but I'm lazy that way.
Just a couple of things that my wonderful husband has done lately. About two weeks ago I was talking to him on the phone while waiting for an experiment to finish so that I could go home. I complained that I was really hungry and not wanting to cook. When I got home there were fresh strawberries and whipped cream waiting for me! Apparently he had originally made an elaborate presentation, but it collapsed before I got home :( After being surprised by this, I walked into the bedroom where a beautiful bouquet of flowers was waiting for me. More smiles.
Last week, I was missing him muchly and was ready to leave work a little early to go visit him at the theater. As I was doing the last thing I needed to before leaving, I turned around and there he was! He had stopped by on his way to work to bring me cookies! Yay, cookies :) I couldn't stop smiling that goofy smile I get when he does something way cool like that. Most of you have seen the smile to which I am referring.
Last Saturday was the 15th Annual Spoutwood Farm Faerie Festival! Bart was busy, so I recruited Melissa to go with me. We had a really great time! There was drumming and music and dancing and eating and using port-a-potties...and a FIELD OF BUBBLES! The FOB was way cool. There were three rotating bubble rings set up in front of small fans that were constantly going. There were many bubbles and much rejoicing on my part. I met
posiefairy and she is just as beautiful in person. I bought some soap, all of the back issues of Faerie Magazine, faerie chocolate and maybe some other stuff that I am forgetting at the moment.
I will add more to this post later, but now Science calls.
reedrover came up and we went out to lunch, hung out at the inner harbor looking at the tall ships and eating fudge. CK was busy AGAIN, so we didn't get to see him. Hopefully next time. I have to order some more faerie nectar soon (http://www.chateaulorane.com/Qstore/Qstore.cgi?CMD=011&PROD=1093293049), so maybe I'll get to see him when I go down to pick it up.
reedrover is making me a blue and purple hat! Can never have too many hats and since I am not a huge fan of getting sun on my face, I love hats.
Totally unrelated to anything else, I have been having a harder and harder time trying to split my life between science and magick. I like what I do and sometimes I am even good at it, but wow, I really prefer the world of herbs and faeries. However, it is difficult to make a living off of herbs and faeries unless you are an amazing artist like
sarahblank or Brian Froud...I do make a good tea, though. Choices must be made soon. At least, plans must be set out. I have so many more thoughts running through my head right now and I am not feeling capable of writing them all down at the moment. I will come back to this later. Maybe after I have grown wings...
